Renewal Specialist

rater8 is seeking a highly motivated, client-focused Renewals Specialist who is passionate about ensuring customer success and long-term partnership health. Reporting directly to the Director of Client Success, you will be an integral part of our client lifecycle organization, focused on driving renewals, nurturing strong customer relationships, and maximizing long-term account value.

What you’ll do - Championing Client Success & Retention

  • Own Renewal Activities: Manage the end-to-end renewal process for assigned accounts, ensuring on-time renewal execution and minimal attrition.
  • Client Relationship Support:  Work alongside the existing client team to provide relational support focused on retention and renewal of current clients, identifying areas of concerns and reinforce value without taking over account ownership, responsible for reaching retention goals.
  • Retention Strategy Execution: Identify and monitor at-risk accounts; develop and execute retention plans that drive renewal and expansion outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Client Success Managers, and Product teams to surface client feedback, advocate for customer needs, and ensure a seamless experience throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Maintain accurate records of renewal activities, customer interactions, and health signals in our CRM (e.g., HubSpot), and use those insights to inform retention efforts and forecasting.
  • Customer Education: Own renewal discussions and help clients understand the full value of the rater8 platform, including new features and enhancements that support their ongoing success with a strong goal of retention and renewal.
  • Goal Achievement: Meet and exceed quarterly renewal and retention targets that contribute to overall company growth and client satisfaction.
  • Value-Based Retention: Proactively present the ongoing value and return on investment of the rater8 platform to clients, using performance data, success metrics, and new feature adoption to secure renewals and drive long-term partnership.

What you’ll bring

  • Renewals or Expansion Expertise: 3+ years of experience in a renewals, account management, or related customer-facing role (SaaS experience strongly preferred).
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Demonstrated track record of building and sustaining strong customer relationships with a focus on retention and value delivery.
  • Ticketing System Proficiency: Experience working with ticketing platforms (Zendesk, Salesforce, etc) and a strong ability to maintain timely communications and document cross-departmental collaboration.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience working with CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) and a strong ability to maintain organized, accurate data.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate value, resolve challenges, and influence outcomes.
  • Analytical & Results-Oriented: Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to identifying risks, trends, and opportunities that improve retention KPIs.
  • Highly Motivated: Self-driven, disciplined, and passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience that drives sustainable account health.
  • Value-Driven Sales Acumen:  Leverages consultative skills to reinforce rater8 value, address concerns, and drive successful renewals. 

Compensation

  • In addition to the base salary, this role offers performance-based commission opportunities. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 annually, with OTE $90,000 to $95,000. Actual total compensation will depend on individual performance.
